DON’T LEAVE YOUR CHILD IN AN OVEN!

DID YOU KNOW…within 10-20 minutes on an average sunny summer day in Canada, the temperature inside a parked car can exceed 50°C (122°F)? Within 40 minutes, it will get so hot that a child inside the car could die.

DOESN’T WORK…Opening the window slightly does not keep the temperature at a safe level. Young children are three to five times more sensitive to heat than adults. They have small body sizes and do not regulate their body temperatures as quickly as adults.

YOUR CHILDREN TRUST YOU TO MAKE SAFE CHOICES FOR THEM!

  • Never leave a child alone in a
car - even with the windows down.
  • Ensure all children leave the car when you have reached your destination. Remove sleeping infants and children in car seats.

NEVER LEAVE YOUR CHILD ALONE IN A CAR! ...always supervise young children. INJURIES ARE NOT ACCIDENTS… THEY ARE PREDICTABLE AND PREVENTABLE!

  • Add chopped bell peppers, broccoli, spinach, or carrots to scrambled eggs or an omelette.
  • Slice up melon for a quick dessert.
